The event took place at Rodger Williams University located in Rhode Island, (RI.) Here we have four colleagues creating a great memory that will keep them smiling even when finals week rolls around! Our Classic PhotoBooth fits in even the most elegant of venues. This video shows our photobooth at the Hildene Mansion of Manchester, Vermont, entertaining the guests and creating beautiful memories. By all accounts Photobooth Planet is the fourth owner of the VW bus we have re-purposed as a rolling photo booth and renamed, Chloe. Below is a little of Chloe’s history as told by her previous owner, Jasun Weiner of Laguna Beach, CA and founder of Street Surfing:
Originally sold in 1967 to a couple in Los Angeles. It was a weekender for close getaways. Original conversion was called Sundial. In the 90’s, it was put in an enclosed storage for approx. 20 years. Eventually, the couple realized they should find a new home for the bus, with people who would use and enjoy it!
A hippie couple from Santa Barbara became the proud new owners. At some point, they repainted it the original seafoam green color. From there, many jaunts ensued. Up the coast and other exciting adventures.
I was the next fortunate one to get to spend a few years with the van. In 2009, 4 of us rode up to Santa Barbara to bring her back home to her new home in Laguna Beach. Over the next few years, we upgraded the bus with various custom jobs including: walnut/bamboo ceiling, recessed lighting, bamboo floor, 3-toned seating, tables on doors, and more!
Here are a few pics of my neighbor and good friend, Roger Roy – a former wood shop and metal shop teacher, who assembled the cabinetry and wiring for the photo booth equipment.
Chloe the VW PhotoBUS is now up and running and excited to function as a fun photo booth rental at any outdoor wedding (or indoor wedding at a venue with a big door!) anywhere on the Northeast Corridor between Greenwich, CT and Boston, MA. (or the Hamptons, Newport RI, or her home in Mystic CT).
When we say we DELIGHT our clients, this is what we mean.

I love the composition and color in this photo-strip. It has all the right elements for a classic, photobooth photo-strip: the lovely bride smushed together in the booth with her friends, the not-overdone props, the green, asian-style umbrella against the hydrangea blue curtain creating a sense of intimate space. Perfect for next year’s holiday card, this family portrait captures the nostalgia and intimacy of our vintage-style, all-American photo booths. This family had a blast piling into the photo booth at Aimee and Patrick’s wedding in Groton, Massachusetts. The photobooth rental was a big hit that night with all the families.

I love this photo-strip. One of the joys of bringing a vintage photo booth to weddings is listening to folks in their 80’s and 90’s reminisce about the photobooths they remember from their childhood. There was a time when photo booths were in every five-and-dime and boardwalk around the country. Despite the serious look on this great-grandmas face, I know in my heart, that she was delighted. And I know her family was delighted to have her with them on this special day.

This photo-strip really speaks for itself. Obviously this was a staged joke shot – but, yes, while rare, the photo booth does occasionally function in a “boudoir photography” capacity. Usually any discussion of “photos saved to a disc” keeps things PG-13 though.
