Photo Booth Rental Chelsea Piers NY

Last weekend, we brought our photo booth rental to Chelsea Piers NYC for a lovely wedding.  Overlooking a beautiful view of the Hudson River, The Lighthouse in Chelsea Piers is an ideal venue for a classic New York wedding reception.  The Lighthouse is also one of several exclusive venues catered by Abigail Kirsh, one of New York’s premier caterers.  Excellent food at premier wedding venues throughout the Tri-State area.

Classic Photo Booth – Enclosed versus Open Air

At this particular event, I spoke with a wedding planner from New York City specializing in high-end events.  We discussed the differences between the popular Open Air Photo Booths and my more traditional, enclosed photo booth.  While she mainly partners with Open Air Photo Booths, she did mention that she loved the overall experience of enclosed classic photo booth.  There is something different about squeezing into the booth, drawing the curtain, and posing for photos.  One other important comment she made: the quality of the photo is what really set us apart from other companies.  See below.

Request a Sample Photo Strip

Whenever we receive an inquiry from a potential client, we recommend requesting a sample photo strip from all photo booth companies being considered.  The quality of the photo strip is critical, especially for weddings.  While we understand there are many factors to consider in selecting the appropriate photo booth for your wedding, we always recommend getting a sample first.  This will narrow down your choices and ultimately, help you find the right photo booth for your event.

Our Classic Photo Booth Rental at the Ritz-Carlton NYC

We loved being part of this elegant wedding with our classic photo booth rental at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in NYC.  Guests got a chance to reconnect and strike a pose in our classic photo booth for an throwback New York Wedding.

Destination Wedding in New York City

Bringing old friends together for photos is one of our favorite things to see.  Guests came in from all parts of the country to celebrate. This lovely Manhattan couple met in college and they maintained close relationships with all their close friends over the years. Their wedding doubled as a college reunion!

Iconic Manhattan Hotels

What better place to have a college reunion than a weekend wedding reception at an iconic Manhattan hotel!  I overheard several guests comment that they loved the old-fashion, classic photo booth.  With so many different photo booth options out there, it’s difficult to choose.  At this event, guests seemed content with our straightforward offering.  We offer a  minimalist design and excellent quality photo strips.  Two of the basic ingredients to an excellent photo booth.  While we recognize the many different offerings out there, for couples looking for an old New York wedding at an iconic Manhattan Hotel, our classic booth was an absolute hit!

Our Photo Booth at the Central Park Boathouse

We set up our enclosed photo booth to celebrate a lovely New York Fall wedding.  What better view of New York City than Central Park Boathouse in the fall?  Located in the heart of Central Park, the Loeb Boathouse is an ideal scene for any event.  We had a great time celebrating with this couple that brought their entire family and close group of friends from the UK!  For this black-tie formal event and other similar events in New York City, we found that clients love having a minimalist yet classy photo booth option.  The Boathouse perfectly suits the aesthetic design of our booth.  In fact, many guests at this particular wedding, asked me if the photo booth is part of the venue.  I politely corrected them, but took notice that clients loved hanging out taking photos.

VW Photo Bus at Martha Clara Vineyards

See guests posing in our VW Photo Bus below.  At a recent wedding at Martha Clara Vineyards on Long Island, this group didn’t let the weather rain on their celebration!  Despite a passing Nor’easter, guests took photos all night in our photo booth.  This photo strip captures just how much fun guests had that night.  Climbing into our restored Volkswagen Bus with their closest friends to pose for three photos.  This group was the first of many at this wedding reception out in Long Island wine country.

Vintage Photo Booth in Beacon, New York

Vintage Photo Booth at The Roundhouse

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Hudson Valley .  We brought our vintage photo booth for a wedding reception at The Roundhouse. Located at 2 East Main Street in Beacon, New York, this venue is beautiful! A historic property overlooking a beautiful waterfall, rushing creek and bustling street corner in charming Beacon, NY.

Exposed Brick and a Waterfall

I really loved the vintage, historic charm of the event space.  The exposed brick along with the beautiful view of the waterfall and rushing creek, made this one of the most aesthetically beautiful spaces I’ve attended in awhile.  Our photo booth matched the overall decor of the event space perfectly.  Guests from parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan flooded our vintage photo booth throughout the evening.  In one conversation I had with a guest, he simply remarked, “I just love the look of your photo booth!”  It was an excellent way to kick-off our spring wedding season and a lovely event space for our classic, vintage photo booth.

Classy Photo Booth Wedding Proposal

Posted 4/19/16 in: New Jersey New York

Came across this story a few years ago and thought it was inspiring as we enter into wedding season.  In a classy

gesture, this boyfriend proposed to his high school sweetheart in a photo booth.    Hoping, by now, these two had

an awesome wedding with a photo booth at their reception.  One of my former clients had a similar story.  Jeff

and Christina took photo booth photos every summer, every year, since high school.  They eventually got married

in 2014, and to my delight, hired our classic photo booth for their wedding reception at the beautiful Perona Farms

located in Andover, NJ.  They sent me the time line of all their photo booth photos dating back to 2004 – 10 years!

They plan to continue their tradition of capturing life through annual photo booth photos.

Lee Godie loved photo booths

Posted 3/30/16 in: New Jersey New York

I recently came across this article on Lee Godie, one of Chicago’s most prolific artists, and her love for bus station photo booths.  Eccentric in many ways, Godie would often peddle her paintings, drawings, and photographs to museum patrons on the steps of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Although she lived the life of a homeless artist, Godie was no amateur. Her work gained international acclaim, and has been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Hayward Gallery in London, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.  Despite her notoriety within the artist community, many details of her private life remain a mystery, particularly, her reasons for living on the streets.

An exhibition originally curated for the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, by Karen Patterson, found that Godie’s photo booth photos provided a unique perspective into this enigmatic artist.  “The photo booth was a world in which she could see herself,” Patterson said. “She was out there without a barrier, and didn’t have a studio or home to go back to in many cases. I see the photo booth as a private moment where she could both see and embolden herself as an artist in Chicago.”

“More than her drawings or other objects she made, the photo-booth self-portraits reflect that eccentric personality that so many of us remember about her,” said Michael Bonesteel, adjunct assistant professor of art history at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Interesting to see how this talented artist turned bus station photo booths into her own private studio.

Even at the Oscars…Celebrities love posing in the photo booth

I came across this brief article highlighting the increasing popularity of the classic photo booth.  Here’s a link to check out what happens behind the curtain at the annual Vanity Fair Oscar party.  Some major celebrities captured in the Vanity Fair Oscar Party photo booth as they pose for the camera.  Whether you’re at a wedding, a prom, a birthday party, or the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, guests (including major celebrities) love being captured in a photo booth!  On a side note, two of these celebrities posed in our vintage photo booth at a wedding last Fall at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NYC.  Yes, we’re famous…

We recently set-up our classic photo booth at the Martha Washington Hotel (marthawashingtonhotel.com) located at 29 East 29th Street, New York, NY for a local fundraising event in Manhattan.  Among the many memorable things about the event, I wanted to extend a warm thank you to the amazing staff at the Martha Washington Hotel. Tricia and her staff were absolutely amazing, accommodating, and super fun to work with for this event.  Located in the NoMad Neighborhood, one of Manhattan’s fastest growing areas, the Martha Washington Hotel is just blocks from The Empire State Building, Union Square, Bryant Park, Madison Square Park  and some of New York’s best restaurants and bars.  This is a great venue, and I would recommend to anyone looking to host an event in Manhattan!
