Chloe, The VW PhotoBUS: Her Backstory

By all accounts Photobooth Planet is the fourth owner of the VW bus we have re-purposed as a rolling photo booth and renamed, Chloe. Below is a little of Chloe’s history as told by her previous owner, Jasun Weiner of Laguna Beach, CA and founder of Street Surfing:
Originally sold in 1967 to a couple in Los Angeles. It was a weekender for close getaways. Original conversion was called Sundial. In the 90’s, it was put in an enclosed storage for approx. 20 years. Eventually, the couple realized they should find a new home for the bus, with people who would use and enjoy it!
A hippie couple from Santa Barbara became the proud new owners. At some point, they repainted it the original seafoam green color. From there, many jaunts ensued. Up the coast and other exciting adventures.
I was the next fortunate one to get to spend a few years with the van. In 2009, 4 of us rode up to Santa Barbara to bring her back home to her new home in Laguna Beach. Over the next few years, we upgraded the bus with various custom jobs including: walnut/bamboo ceiling, recessed lighting, bamboo floor, 3-toned seating, tables on doors, and more!
Here are a few pics of my neighbor and good friend, Roger Roy – a former wood shop and metal shop teacher, who assembled the cabinetry and wiring for the photo booth equipment.
Chloe the VW PhotoBUS is now up and running and excited to function as a fun photo booth rental at any outdoor wedding (or indoor wedding at a venue with a big door!) anywhere on the Northeast Corridor between Greenwich, CT and Boston, MA. (or the Hamptons, Newport RI, or her home in Mystic CT).

When the curtain closes, the magic begins!
Everyone loves the closed booth that Photobooth Planet provides for weddings and events. When that curtain shuts, it opens a box full of fun and sometimes craziness! The photo booth elevates the fun of any special day, making it even more memorable.
Out of sight from the rest of the guests, what goes on in that booth spontaneously generates great fun and is captured in duplicate photostrips. Then, the “magic” is taken home for everyone to cherish for years to come.
The Classic Booth is elegantly designed, and will fit even the classiest of occasions.

Ruby at Burlington VT Moms Blog – Mom’s Night Out

“Ruby” the VW Photobooth Bus had a great time entertaining a great crowd of women for the Burlington VT Moms Blog’s “Mom’s Night Out at Arts Riot” on Oct 28th 2013! Mom’s were treated inside with a kids-free night of food, drinks, shopping, yoga, massage, waxing, and then were given lots of swag! Outside, the women all loved putting on fun props while putting on gleeful and goofy smiles for the photo booth in back of the VW Bus. Everyone went home with pampered smiles and photostrips to share with the family back home.

Like expectant parents, we’ve been awaiting the arrival of Photobooth Planet’s newest baby: Chloe, the PhotoBUS! Chloe arrived Monday at 12:46PM – I don’t know what she weighs, but pound for pound I can’t think of many other things that will set a wedding apart like a sea-foam green, 1967 VW PhotoBUS. Inside she’s decked out in classic surf-bus style with bamboo and walnut ceiling, floor, and side paneling. Chloe will work like any other photo booth rental except that guests will pile into a VW Bus instead of a vintage-style photo booth. She’s ready for hire anywhere in Connecticut, Rhode Island, or Massachusetts (and the Hamptons) through Fall 2013 and then again starting in March 2014.
