Classic Wedding and Our Traditional Photo Booth
Posted 7/14/15 in: New Jersey New York
At a recent wedding at Maritime Parc in Liberty State Park, New Jersey, guests absolutely loved hanging around our classic, traditional photo booth all evening! With a beautiful view of downtown Manhattan on a gorgeous June evening, wedding guests mingled amongst each other with a fantastic Jazz Band playing in the background, and outstanding food. Guests loved the simple, vintage-style photo booth experience, and together, we completed a beautiful photo guest book for the bride and groom! Throughout the evening, the bride continued to flip through the photo guest book, checking out all her friends and family who stopped to pose in our classic photo booth! It is always one of my goals to get as many friends and family members into the photo booth on behalf of the bride and groom. For this particular wedding, the friends and family had such a good time, word spread, and pretty soon, guests lined-up for the chance! A wonderful wedding with a lovely couple and beautiful guests!

Fort Lee Arts Festival and a Vintage Photo Booth
Posted 7/12/15 in: New Jersey New York

On New Year’s Eve, I met Tom from the Fort Lee Arts and Film Commission based in Fort Lee, New Jersey. As a guest at a wedding, he jumped into our vintage photo booth and loved it! After the event, he asked for my card and invited me to participate at the Fort Lee Annual Arts and Film Commission. Most people these days associate Fort Lee with the Bridge Gate scandal, yet many people do not know that Fort Lee represented Hollywood, before Hollywood even existed! Lemoine Avenue in Fort Lee housed all the major film studios before they migrated out west. Many of the earliest motion picture films were produced and filmed in Fort Lee, just a stones throw away from Manhattan. Check out this cool website for the history of the motion picture industry in North Jersey – http://www.fortleefilm.org/.
We set-up our vintage photo booth as partners with the Fort Lee Arts and Film Commission, offering free photo booth pictures for families in the Fort Lee community. It was an absolute hit! People jumped in and out of our vintage photo booth all day, taking black and white photos, and re-experiencing the vintage photo booth experience! The Arts Festival also included some talented emerging bands, live music, great food, and wonderful community! Enjoyed being part of this community event in North Jersey, and so glad to see so many people embracing the vintage photo booth experience!

Beautiful Vintage Style Wedding on Long Island
Posted 7/08/15 in: New Jersey New York

We recently set-up our vintage photo booth at a beautiful wedding at the Three Village Inn out in Stony Brook, Long Island. It was a lovely, vintage style wedding, with great food and a beautiful view along the water. I particularly enjoyed the rustic, vintage look of the Three Village Inn, a perfect venue for our vintage style photo booth. The bride and groom loved posing in the photo booth, especially with his cheese head prop, straight from Wisconsin! Guests loved filling up the guest book with hilarious photo strips from our vintage style photo booth!

At the end of the day…this is what it’s all about. A beautiful bride and her groom sharing a few special moments in the photo booth. A heart-felt thank you to all our Connecticut (CT), Rhode Island (RI), and Massachusetts (MA) bridal couples who hired us to provide a vintage-style photo booth rental or VW Photobus for their weddings in 2014. We had as much fun as you did! Our hope is that the memories we helped create and capture will be enjoyed by you for years to come.

Chloe the VW PhotoBus brings out the “goofy” best in our wedding guests. These guys at a Newport, RI wedding had a good laugh when these images popped out. In fact, that is the most common reaction to photo strips produced in our photo booths (vintage-style or VW photobus): LAUGHTER. Which is another way of saying that Photobooth Planet is in the business of creating joy. In terms of enhancing guest experience at a wedding or event – Chloe really has no equal. Guests are delighted when they see a sea-foam green, 1967 Volkswagen bus rolling up to your event. Then we open the doors and invite guests not only in, but in to create and capture memories that will last a lifetime.

These lovely women (the bride is in the middle) created a magical series of black and white photos. Particularly the last one which captures the warmth and affection of their friendship. This wedding was held at Barberry Farm in Madison, Connecticut. The classic photo booth rental at this wedding succeeded in our goal of both creating and capturing memories. Photos like these are then glued into a photo guest book provided and assembled by Photobooth Planet. Our attendants are trained to encourage guests to write funny/meaningful/clever messages in the book which the bridal couple receive at the end of the night – along with a flash drive with all the digital images.

What is there really to say about this photo-strip. It’s perfect. These images combine the intimate details of this wedding in New Haven, Connecticut (they served lobster. LOBSTER!) with wedding guests revealing the full range of emotion embodied in their personalities. Clever, boys. Very clever. And remember what I said about not going overboard with the props. The vintage-style photo booth works because when the curtain closes magic happens. These guys got creative because there weren’t a bunch of boas and tacky hats to distract them.

It always makes us happy to see a family bonding in the photo booth. Besides, having a current, hard copy of a family photo is very rare these days. Sure, an iphone pic of the fam is nice and all – but try hanging it on the fridge! The colorful attire in this photo in front of the classic, burgundy curtain really makes the images pop. One of the main things we believe sets Photobooth Planet’s vintage-style photo booths apart is their ability to create and capture high resolution, flattering images. It’s one of the first things guests comment on when their photo strips appear – not only how clear they are but how good they look in them.

Recently my Photobooth Planet – New England facebook page was over-run with posts about a Pet Adoption agency that used a photo booth to capture funny pictures of their dogs. They got some great shots. Here we have a guest at a wedding in Newport RI using our vintage-style photo booth rental to show off his pups. I think they look a little nervous. They are clearly looking to someone outside the booth for help. I liked this photo-strip though because it highlights the creativity of guests when there aren’t a lot of official “photobooth props” provided. We have a minimal prop philosophy at Photobooth Planet because our goal is to make a super-awesome photo guestbook. Too many props and you don’t even know in the pictures. And, as shown in the photo-strip above – it opens the door for a level of guests creativity/ingenuity that makes for some very memorable shots.
Our Vintage Photo Booth at a High School Prom
Posted 5/25/15 in: New Jersey New York

Despite all the new gimmicks and features of modern photo booths catering to the current generation of social-media savvy, smart-phone toting high schoolers, it was impressive to see how many of them enjoyed our vintage photo booth at a recent Senior High School prom. This line stretched 25 people deep for most of the night as students waited to take their photos in our vintage photo booth at the Glastonbury Senior Prom at the Hartford Marriott Hotel located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. While chatting with the students, many of them have sat in various-types of photo booths for Sweet 16s, weddings, Bar-Mitvah, etc…but the response to our vintage photo booth was overwhelmingly positive. One particular couple (located on the far right in the above photo) posed twelve times in our classic photo booth over the course of the evening. That means, they were spending a significant portion of their night waiting on line, since the line for our classic photo booth stretched 25 people deep for most of the evening. After their eighth time through, I asked them for feedback on our classic photo booth in comparison to others. “We love the quality of the photo and the simple design.” Happy to hear the next generation still appreciates the classic photo booth experience!
